Abdullah Deghayes was an 18-year-old youth from the United Kingdom who is reported to have died during the conflict in Syria.[1][2][3] Deghayes's father stated the family did not know Deghayes and two of his brothers had traveled to Syria, but he expressed support for their intentions. His father said Abdullah and his 15-year-old brother Jafar had traveled to Syria in January, and that he had traveled to Turkey to try to convince them not to put themselves at risk.

Amer, his 20-year-old brother had also traveled to Syria, and had been wounded.[2]

Omar Deghayes, an uncle, was held, for years, without every being charged, in the United States' notorious Guantanamo Bay detention camps.[2]
