05-CV-0429 is a writ of habeas corpus initiated on behalf of several Guantanamo captives.[1] In 2007 the Center for Constitutional Rights listed James W. Beane as the lead petitioner.

It was one of over a dozen habeas petions amalgamated with al Qosi v. Bush shortly before the passage of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 closed off the captives' access to the US Civilian court system.[2]

The captives' petitions were re-initiated when United States Supreme Court ruled in June 2008, in Boumediene v. Bush, that the Congress did not have the constitutional authority to deny the captives access to the US justice system.
