Wreckers (Transformers)

The Wreckers are a group of Autobots that serve as an elite black ops unit in several continuities of the Transformers franchise.

History

Generation 1

3H Enterprises

During the time of Beast Machines, a new group of Wreckers was formed by Rodimus Major as one of several resistance forces opposing the Vehicons under Megatron. Consisting of Maximals and Predacons from the Axalon and the Decepticons Cyclonus and Skywarp, the group was led by the Maximal Primal Prime.

In an alternate version of this timeline as revealed in "Ask Vector Prime", the Wreckers were led by "Optimal" Rodimus in their efforts against Megatron. While they fought alongside the Mutants and Dinobots as in the original timeline, instead of coexisting with Optimus Primal's Maximals they fought alongside a group of Predacons led by Waspscream-the Predacon Waspinator fused with the Spark of the Decepticon Starscream.

In the Shattered Glass universe, the Wreckers were an evil Autobot mercenary unit whose members included Rodimus, but during an engagement alongside Optimus Prime's forces the unit was decimated with only Rodimus surviving. Side Burn recommended reforming the unit as a counter to the Mayhem Suppression Squad, but Optimus disregarded his suggestion.

Books

In Transformers: Exodus, Transformers: Exiles, and Transformers: Retribution, the Wreckers were formed by Ultra Magnus to fight against the Decepticons. Following the departure of Optimus Prime and his crew they became the primary resistance force against the Decepticon occupation.
