Vincent Tamagna is an American legislator and a former elected representative who served as Chairman of the Putnam County Legislature for eighteen years.[1] He is currently the administrator of transportation in the Putnam County Department of Planning, Development and Public Transportation.[2]

Career

Tamagna was elected to public office in Putnam County from 1995 till 2012.[3] He served as a Putnam County Legislator, District 1, representing the Town of Philipstown and Putnam Valley and the Villages of Cold Spring and Nelsonville.[4][5] He was elected Legislative Chairman of the Legislature from 2011 to 2012.[6][7]

Dr. Tamagna serves as the Leadership Navigator and the Hudson River Navigator a part of Executive Order 13061, the American Heritage Rivers Initiative. He also serves as an administrator of transportation in the Putnam County Department of Planning, Development and Public Transportation.[8][9][10] He is also the President and Chairman of the Constitution Island Association (CIA).[11]

Early life and education

Vinny is a native New Yorker (Bronx) and attended grade school at St. Nicholas of Tolentine. He graduated from Walter Panas High School in 1976 and returned to complete his degree in 2013. An alumnus of Marist College Marist College - Wikipedia BS (2015), MPA (2017) he continued an academic marathon at Concordia University and was conferred a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Concordia University Chicago (2023), with a focus on Kraemer’s values-based leadership in the public sector.

He is a subject matter expert in leadership serving as the Leadership Navigator as a part of the Hudson River Valley Institute at Marist College and published How State And National Political Leaders Employ Values-Based Leadership In Service Of Passing Policy Initiatives, Building Consensus, And Building Followings Search Results - ProQuest. A collegial leader with demonstrated integrity and good judgment, and high public service ethical standards and senior executive service qualities of leadership and acumen through personal energy, flexibility, self-confidence, work ethic, positive approach, robust administrative/organizational skills, and inclusive interpersonal skills.[12]
