Dr. Ryan Smith is an education leader, experienced superintendent, and husband. Dr. Smith’s journey in education shows that with the right mindset, and the right support systems, anyone can achieve whatever they want in life. His career started when he had a chance encounter with basketball coach Randy Bennett during his college days in San Diego. At that time Dr. Smith was an uninspired freshman business major. Coach Randy Bennett was a big inspiration and urged Dr. Smith to go into teaching and coaching and even offered tips that could help. The call he made to Coach Bennett’s contact changed his life for the better, launching a rewarding career in education that has lasted more than 25 years. Dr. Ryan Smith has now served for two decades in various leadership capacities, including Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and high school principal, Dr. Smith has left a mark on the educational landscape of Southern California. His leadership philosophy is succinct yet profound: "Students First." This ethos permeates every facet of his work, from strategic planning to fostering inclusive learning environments. Dr. Smith's contributions to education have not gone unnoticed, garnering recognition for outstanding PBIS implementation and excellence in AP programs. His collaborative leadership style, coupled with a relentless pursuit of student success, has earned him accolades from colleagues and community members alike. Dr. Smith is a passionate advocate for educational equity and improving student outcomes. With a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Southern California and a wealth of experience, Dr. Ryan Smith stands at the forefront of educational innovation.
