Xiao Dexiong (born 1962) is a Chinese politician. As a political official of the People's Republic of China, he has served as an elected member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference for several terms,[1] an honorary consul of Grenada in Macau, and a torchbearer of the 16th Asian Games.

Xiao Dexiong serves as the chairman of Macau Senji Development Co., Ltd. and Macau Fortuna Hotel Co., Ltd. In September 2002, he founded the Macau Jiangmen Association for charity with Jiangmen Yinkui Golf Co., Ltd.[2] In 2009, he served as the chairman of Guanzhong Real Estate Group.[3] In January 2018, he was elected as a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference[4] and a member of the Chief Executive Election Committee of the Macao Special Administrative Region. He is also involved with overseeing culture, sports, education and medical care in his hometown.

Donation of Liang Qichao's manuscripts

Xiao Dexiong donated the manuscript of "A Treatise on the History of European Warfare" and its four calligraphic screens, which he had acquired in an auction, to the Jiangmen City Museum.

On the title page of the manuscript, Liang Qichao wrote that the book was written for his 15-year-old son, Liang Sicheng. The four calligraphic works of Liang Qichao are all in regular script, with sharp and clear dots, and a dignified and majestic ending.

Selection as one of Guangfu's "Double Ten"

The first World Guangfu People's Convention (WGC) was held on November 12, 2013 at the Baiyun International Convention Center in Guangzhou, and the first Guangfu People's "Top Ten Outstanding People" and "Top Ten Outstanding Youths" were awarded. The first Guangfu "Top Ten Outstanding People" and "Top Ten Outstanding Youths" were awarded. As an important event of the first World Guangfu People's Convention, the "Top Ten Outstanding Guangfu People" and "Top Ten Outstanding Guangfu Youth" were the highlights of the convention. Through two rounds of selection, the jury has recently named the finalists of the two awards. In addition, more than half of the 20 people named as "Double Ten Outstanding" came from the economic field, which Lai explained is a reflection of the "business-oriented" tradition of Guangfu people.

Donation to the Sichuan disaster area

On May 16, 2008, Huang Songfu, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau, received a donation of HK$250,000 from honorary consuls of six countries in Macau to the Sichuan disaster area at the Diplomatic Office. They are Siu Tak Hung, Honorary Consul of Grenada, Li Dewang, Honorary Consul of Guinea, Jiang Mohan, Honorary Consul of Niger, Liang Siyang, Honorary Consul of Mali, Chen Xianqiang, Honorary Consul of Namibia and Chen Peiyao, Honorary Consul of Tanzania.

Deputy Commissioner Huang introduced the disaster situation in Sichuan and the situation of China's military and civilian efforts in the earthquake relief. The honorary consuls in Australia expressed their gratitude for the touching television footage of the earthquake relief efforts of the military and civilians in China. Although the donation is not much, but the expression is a token of appreciation for the people in the disaster area, hope they can feel the warmth of the international community and compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao, strong and resilient, through the difficulties.

Torchbearers of the 16th Asian Games

The torch of the 16th Asian Games came to Jiangmen, the 19th stop in Guangdong Province, to start the relay. Jiangmen Olympic gymnastics champion Li Shanshan started as the first torchbearer, then Li Hongli passed the torch to Xiao Dexiong, the founding president of Macau Jiangmen Clan Association, who is passionate about charity in his hometown, and Xiao Dexiong passed it to Liang Renkan, the grandson of Liang Qichao, the 79th batonbearer, who lit the torch with the 80th batonbearer, Liu Hai, the acting mayor of Jiangmen. In nearly 60,000 people along the cheering, 80 torchbearers after 7.1 kilometers of passionate journey full of overseas Chinese customs, "trend" torch in Jiangmen's transmission also drew a perfect end, while Jiangmen people look forward to the Asian Games enthusiasm has been further ignited.
