Rune Wahl Nilsson (also known as Rune W. Nilsson) is a Norwegian businessman.[1][2] He is known for establishing companies such as FlexM Global AS,[3] which specializes in mobile wallets.[4][5]

Career

In 1990, Nilsson sold his company, SuperBoards, which specialized in boards and outdoor advertising. Later in 1997, he sold Lufthavnreklame AS, an airport advertising company.[6]

Since the mid 2010s, Nilsson has actively worked on developing mobile payments in Asia. In particular, he has worked on the introduction of the FlexM Card in Singapore, a mobile wallet which allows for paperless transactions[7] and is used by expatriate workers in Singapore, Hong Kong, and other countries. FlexM can be topped up in areas frequented by migrant workers in Singapore such as City Plaza and Lucky Plaza.[8]

Personal life

Nilsson has been in media outlets like Seilmagasinet[9] and Dagens Næringsliv. He is a sailor who regularly participates in the DN Sailing Cup.[10]
