Rod Drill is a fictional character from the Machine Robo series. He is a heroic Machine Robo introduced in 1983 as Drill Robo, but was renamed Rod Drill in 1986 for Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos.

Machine Robo

A young warrior of the Battle Tribe, he transforms into a Drill Tank. He trained under Master Kirai Stol and uses a bare fist form of Tenku Chushin Ken martial arts. He has a bright, happy-go-lucky personality and adores Leina Stol. He can be cranky if woken up early, and is afraid of snakes and spiders. His weapons include Ionoid Super Drill, a pair of tonfas and his Blazer Cannon.

He stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and is 15 years old at the start of the Revenge of Cronos animated series.

The design of the Machine Robo Rescue character Drill Robo was directly based on Rod Drill.
