Phlogeus is a fictional character and third party Transformer made by TFC Toys in 2014. He is an homage to the 1986 Transformers character Rampage.

TFC Toys

Phlogeus is a third party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Rampage. He becomes the right arm of Ares.

Phlogeus is named after one of the fire breathing horses of Ares in mythology. Phlogeus is Greek for "flame".

Other third party Transformer homages to Rampage include Mastermind Creations Tigris.

Development

TFC Toys teased five outlines of the Ares members in robot mode on their weibo page in March 2013.[1]

Prototype images and the names of Conabus and Phlogeus were posted to weibo in July 2013.[2]

In August 2013 TFC Toys put prototype images of Conabus and Phlogeus on their weibo page.[3]

Phlogeus shipped in April, 2014.

Reception

The moonbase2 podcast for July 15th, 2013 discussed the TFC Toys Conabus, Nemean and Phlogeus in the news.[4]

In the Fwooshcast podcast for July 22nd, 2013 images of the prototypes of Conabus, Nemean and Phlogeus were one of the news topics.[5]

The Fwooshcast podcast for August 20th, 2013 talked about TFC Toys Conabus and Phlogeus prototypes in the news.[6]

The TransMissons podcast for January 21st, 2014 discussed Phlogeus in the news. One of the hosts has trouble with his name, but thought it looked okay.[7]

  • TFC Toys Phlogeus (2014)
An original mold by TFC Toys. Turns from humanoid robot to robotic panther or becomes the right arm of Ares. He can also become the torso of any Power Core Combiner. Comes with a tail/whip and fist for Ares.
