The concept of a Parallel universe in fiction is often one in which realities exist where events have unfolded differently than those seen in the "main" universe of a series.
Examples
- Transformers: Deviations and Echoes and Fragments-storylines in which alternate versions of the events of The Transformers: The Movie took place, the one featuring Optimus Prime surviving his duel with Megatron while the other features GoBots characters and concepts intermingled with those of the Transformers franchise.
