Micronauts
The Neon Orbiter is a motor tricycle vehicle in the Micronauts series.
The box art for the Neon Orbiter depicts it being piloted by an orange Pharoid.
Development
The Neon Orbiter toy was designed by Iwakichi Ogawa and was filed for US patent in 1977. The patent clearly shows the design of the Drag Tiger, without the remolds done for the Neon Orbiter.[1]
The Neon Orbiter was release by Mego in 1977. It was also released by Airfix.
In 2018 several parts for the Neon Orbiter were released on Shapeways by Mathew Robert Ignash.
Comics
1979 Marvel Comics
A slightly modified Neon Orbiter appeared in issue 6 of the the Marvel Comics Micronauts series as a pilotless drone which informed the Shadow Priests that Philip Prometheus has breached the space wall.
