Mantax is a fictional character made by BMOG. He is an evil robotic manta ray.

BMOG

Mantax is a character from the BMOG (Bio-Mechanical Ordnance Gestalts) toy line. He is not an homage to any existing character, but meant to be used as either a stand-alone figure, or as accessories to any toy capable of using 5mm port accessories, such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Zoids Blox, and many others.

Development

Mantax was designed by Trent Troop. The outline was first teased on the BMOG Tumblr page in October 2013.[1]

Trent announced Mantax online on various message boards in October 2013. Initially the name was spelled Mantaxe.

Reception

The Good Morning, Cybertron! podcast for October 25th, 2013 interviewed Trent Troop about BMOG, where he mentioned Ursenal, Mantax, Featherblight and the Notasaurs.[2]

The Retro Robot Radio podcast for October 26th, 2013 covered the BMOG interview on Good Morning Cybertron in the news.[3]

Fictional biography

The evil Mantax is a slippery sea-spy who was brought to life when weapons made by a group of evil interdimensional arms dealers were exposed to the power of the last world seed. He is a member of the Paraxxoids and rival of the heroic Ursenal. Mantax has under-wing turbines that work both in air and water. He breaks down into a double-bladed battle axe and a duel barreled laser pistol.
