Dakewann Clifton Daley (born July 28, 2006), better known by his stage nameLil Dakes, is an American Rapper rapper based in Illinois,[1] Chicago.[2] Lil Dakes was born on July 28 2006 Jamaica at Spanish Town Hospital started his rap career in middle high school recording music on band lab, Fl Studio and publishing them on Sound Cloud music platform. Chicago-area hip-hop rapper and singer musician Lil Dakes delivers introspective lyrics atop melodic production artists who grew up playing piano, drums, and guitar, turning to rap freestyle in high school. Influenced by rock music and Chicago drill. American rapper and singer. Throughout his career of two years, he was a leading figure in the Drill Rap and SoundCloud Rap[3] genres which garnered mainstream attention during the mid-to-late 2023s. His stage name, which he stated came from his childhood name “ Dakes”.

Career

Dakes started his rap career in 2023. He gained traction with the release of his song "Tamed" in 2023. In 2023, his song gained thousands of views and streams across music platforms became increasingly popular on the social media app TikTok.[4] Dake's debut mixtape, Shooting Ops, was released on July 30, 2023, which was another breakthrough for the rapper gaining attraction worldwide.

On October 1, 2023, he released a song titled "Rooky"[5] which was the number one trending music video on YouTube[6] for a few days straight at the time of its release.

Daley has an older sister and brothers.He currently attending Sydney pagan High School.

Really Want To Die

On July 27 he released his first track on SoundCloud titled (Really Want to die[7]). This was his first song to publish on soundcloud, he get discover by local producers who encouraged to continue to post music he then continued to publish music even tho the music he making didn’t sound clear because at the time he was recording his early tracks he didn’t have a proper microphone and a laptop to record and edit his music. This led to a lot of his music sound downgraded. he started to get sound at another music cording software called Fl Studio which was a music changer for his music He used it and made his music sound clearer.

Early Life

Dakewann Clifton Daley was burn on July 28, 2006, in Jamaica, Spanish Town. He grew up in Spanish town and spent his childhood in green vial. he then later moved to .STElizabeth,where he attended Sydney Pagon High School. and graduated in 2024. his father died on may 3, 2006 when he was one year old, his mother would later die on December 3, 2017, when he was ten years old. Daley’s mother was very religious and conservative, and did n


ot let him listen to hip hop. He was allowed to listen to rock and pop music, however, being introduced to artists including King Von,[8] Lil Durk,[9] Lil Pump,[10] Lil Baby,[11] Lil Peep,[12] Xxxtentacion[13] and Eminem[14].

He learned to use recording software and make edit music at 16 years old, having been inspired by his friends, who he would speak about how much he wanted to do music at the time, they never serious about actually making music. he started taking it seriously after publishing high and low which got 1000 plays in the last three days. in his sophomore year of high school, he began posting songs to SoundCloud[15] which he recorded on his smartphone. Around this time, Daley began to take rapping more seriously.

Tamed

On October 10, 2023,he was released tamed on SoundCloud in which he made a lot of plays a few days. he started to gain reorganization on Spotify SoundCloud, apple music and YouTube music. he gain 3500 followers on SoundCloud this lead to get more attention inside and outside of SoundCloud making freestyle songs and post on SoundCloud which he make more fans who Loved how he sound and how he make the freestyle unique.
