KAT-01S is a third party Transformer homage to Beast Machines Strika that is being funded through crowd sourcing on Pozible. The base body for the toy is provided by Chinese toy company Meng Badi with their copy of the Universe Ultra Onslaught toy.
Development
Koncept Art Toys announced their plans to make a Strika homage from the Meng-Badi version of the Universe Ultra Onslaught toy in April 2014. Their goal is to raise $35,000 by June 29th, 2014. The designation of KAT-01S for the project was suggested by Mathew Robert Ignash.
On May 1st Koncept Arts Toys asked supporters to suggest a name for the toy. The most popular would become the official name. Suggestions included Road Cougar and Terminata.
On May 8th photographs of test shots of the base figure were supplied by Meng Badi. These first test shots had grey fists and thighs which were supposed to be black.
