Jeffrey Palazzo was a firefighter with the FDNY, and a reservists with the US Coast Guard Reserve, who was killed responding to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks to the WTC.[2][3] Palazzo was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.

On October 10, 2008, Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg renamed 84 streets, in honor of first responders who died serving the city on 9-11.[4] Palazzo was one of those honored.

In 2014 the Coast Guard named a multipurpose facilty in his honor.[1] The facility included berthing space for small boats, offices, and a gymnasium.

On November 10, 2019, Mayor De Blazio delivered remarks to honor Palazzo and Vincent Danz, another Coast Guard reservist who died on 9-11, who also had a Coast Guard cutter named after him.[5][6][7]
