In Transformers: Retribution, Hydratron-in its dormant state-was disguised as a continent on the planet Aquatron and served as the Quintesson base of operations. When their plan to invade Cybertron was jeopardized, they activated the Hydratron in an effort to eliminate Autobots and Decepticons alike. However, their plans were thwarted when Hydratron was caught in the explosion of their Spacebridge, though not before eliminating General Tyrannicon of the Sharkticons.

"Ask Vector Prime" later revealed that a version of Hydratron was contributed to Bio Ranger Iga's Thirteen Great Demon Generals by the Quintessons, who sought to further their own designs. [1]
