Head Shots Vol. 3 in exclusive colors

Head Shots Vol. 3 is a set of the toy heads made by Play With This Too. They are designed in several color sets, and when placed on toy bodies form different fictional characters.

Lost Protectors

Head Shots Vol. 3 three includes three heads designed by Rik Alvarez and Ken Christiansen. They are shaped like a unicorn, an alien helmet and an Easter Island statue.

In their Kickstarter exclusive colors the heads are the characters Gentleman Fantastico MD, Maqua and Talix. In the retail colors they are the characters Blindspot the Waricorn, Enigmoid and Volcanolith.

Development

The Head Shots Vol. 3 were designed by Rik Alvarez and Ken Christiansen. Talix is named after Rik Alvarez's former boss Scott Talis. Alvarez has stated its design is influenced by old Colorforms and the alien masks from the Transformers episode "Hoist Goes Hollywood".

The crowd funding exclusive colors for Head Shots Vol. 3 were displayed on the Play With This Too Facebook page in November 2014. According to them the Masters of the Universe Faker body would be a good match for Gentleman Fantastic MD's head. The retail colors were announced in the Lost Protectors Kickstarter.

Head Shots Vol. 3 were among the stretch goals for the unsuccessful Lost Protectors Kickstarter campaign. They were to be unlocked if the campaign raised at least $155,000.[1]

In July 2015 Play With This Too asked on their Facebook page if Maqua should be one of the one of the 2 additional heads provided with Boneyard and Jetstrike.[2]

In May 2017 Play With This Too posted the following on Twitter:

Enigmoid plays the accordion. Blindspot used to be called Steve. Turns out, Volcanolith is just an inanimate object.... Who knew...

The biographies for Blindspot the Waricorn, Enigmoid and Volcanolith were written by Mathew Robert Ignash.

Rik played with a prototype of the sword for Desolataur/Sir Pythanore during the show.[6]

Fictional biographies

Blindspot the Waricorn, once a simple lab assistant known as Steve, was one of many experiments of the diabolical Gentleman Fantastico MD. A partial success at forced genetic overwriting, it is now an unstable mishmash of over a dozen powerful beings, with a twisted version of the doctor's face. The mad doctor uses this constantly changing henchman as muscle... as long as it can keep from exploding into a pile of genetic soup!
The Enigmoid is possibly the most annoying being in the universe, and one of the most dangerous. As the Herald of Retribution, any attack on his neon form is immediately reflected on his attacker. Ceaselessly taunting, laughing and playing his Atomic Dis-cordian, the Enigmoid wants to attract attacks in order to defeat opponents. The more annoying he is the more deadly he becomes. Never physically attacks another being for fear of the attack reflecting back at him.
The statue of the peaceful Graniteoid deity Volcanolith was quietly worshipped by the magmaoid natives of E-Star 15 for decades until one day their idol spoke. This came as quite the shock to the natives, but they accepted it quietly, as is their way. Why does it instruct the natives to build a fleet of war cruisers and invade nearby systems? How is its awakening connected to the transmission the natives received warning about an evil "Paraxxoid ventriloquist parrot" (whatever that is?) escaping to their solar system. Why does the statue demand a daily offering of crackers be left on its alter?
