Decocidio #ϴ is an anonymous, autonomous collective of hacktivists.[1]
The collective is part of Earth First!,[2] a radical environmental protest organisation, and adheres to Climate Justice Action.[3][4]
In their hacks the group shows affiliation with the autonomous Hackbloc collective.[3][4]
The logo of the collective is a stylized symbol for the Earth preceded by a hash symbol or number sign, referring to Earth First!
The name decocidio is a type of word play. The noun consists of the stem deco- and the suffix -cidio:
- deco- is an anagram for the word code
- -cidio originates from the Latin caedere, which means to kill. It's the Spanish variant of the suffix -cide, as in homicide (Sp.: homicidio)
Decocidio refers to the act of killing code.
