D-Mon is a fictional character and third-party Transformer homage to Transformers Dauros and Skullgrin made by Play With This Too.

Lost Protectors

D-Mon is a fictional character created by Play With This Too as part of their Lost Protectors series. He is the partner of Desolataur. He is an homage to Generation 1 Dauros and Skullgrin.

Development

Desolate and D-Mon were designed by Steve Redinger.

Play With This Too started a Kickstarter crowd funding campaign on February 27th, 2015. It offered several figures as backer rewards, including Desolataur, and had a funding goal of $80,000. The campaign ended short of its goal with only $71,625 pledged.[1]

Reception

The Shattered Cast Uncut podcast for November 13th, 2014 discussed renders of D-Mon in the news. The hosts wanted a highly articulated version of the Decepticon Pretender shells, but were confused as to what you got with the Desolataur figure.[2]

The Retro Robot Radio show for November 15th, 2014 discussed renders for D-Mon, cape art for Desolataur, and crowd funding exclusive colors of Head Shots Vol. 1 and 2 in the news.[3]

A stretch goal in the Lost Protectors Kickstarter was a set of Glow-In-The-Dark Tech Drones. They were to be unlocked if the campaign reached $145,000 in pledges.
