Chuck Garcia is an American author, professor, executive coach, professional public speaker, and mountaineer. He is also the founder of Climb Leadership International.

Early life and education

Garcia grew up in West Point, New York. His father was a Professor of Foreign Languages at the United States Military Academy. His mother was a concert pianist. He received his Bachelor's degree in finance from Syracuse University and his Master's in organizational leadership from Mercy College.

Career

Garcia started his career in 1988, as a Sales Manager at Bloomberg L.P. In 1999, he was promoted to Global Strategic Marketing Manager. In early 2006, he became director of business development at BlackRock Solutions. In late 2012, he joined Citadel as Managing Director of sales. He established Climb Leadership International in 2013 and serves as its CEO. In 2017, he became an adjunct associate professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Engineering.[1] In 2018, he also joined Long Island University where he teaches in the School of Business. In 2019, he started a Radio Talk Show on New York’s 77WABC and with the C-Suite Network, where he hosted “A CLIMB TO THE TOP: Stories of Transformation”, The series ended in 2021.

Personal life

Garcia is an accomplished mountaineer and has climbed some of the world’s tallest peaks, including Mount Rainier, Kilimanjaro, and Elbrus, as well as mountains in the Alps, the Andes, and Alaska.

Books

Garcia is the author of “The Moment That Defines Your Life: Integrating Emotional Intelligence and Stoicism when Your Life, Career, and Family Are on the Line”, and “A Climb to the Top: Communication & Leadership Tactics to Take Your Career to New Heights”.[1] It was translated into Chinese in 2017.
