Bombardier is a fictional character made by third party Transformer company JustIToys in 2008. He is an homage both the 1985 Transformers Dinobot toy Swoop and the Smallest Transforming Transformers toy line. Several limited edition recolors of this toy have been released. Reprolabels has released a set of labels for this toy.

JustIToys

Bombardier is an homage to 1985 Transformers Dinobot Swoop. He shares a similar toy design with Generation 1 Swoop, whose function was "Bombardier".

According to his tech specs Bombardier is extremely tough and very fast. He is also more courageous and skilled than average and packs a good amount of firepower.

Development

In October 2007 JustIToys put prototype images of Jungle Warrior and Bombardier on their web site.[1]

In January 2008 JustIToys released images of the finish Jungle Warrior and Bombardier toys.[2]

Promotional photos of the prototype for Solo Assault Group compared him to Bombardier Elf.[3]

Reception

The TFWire podcast for April 30th, 2006 has a listener question asking if the hosts were picking up the WST Dinorobots. Spada planned to get the homages to Grimlock, Sludge and Swoop.[4]

The WTF@TFW podcast for June 10th, 2010 selected a picture of the Smallest Dinorobots Comic Version as one of the New Picture Picks.[5]

Fictional biography

The Dinorobots are a rowdy, arrogant, lowbrow, disobedient band of warriors that some of their allies would rather scrap than deal with. They're also one of the most devastatingly powerful and close-knit combat units in the army, being incredibly powerful in robot mode and taking alternate modes base on the dinosaurs, the most powerful creatures ever to roam the Earth.
