Blood is a fictional character from the Transformers series. He was one of the regular villains in the anime series Transformers: Super-God Masterforce in 1988. He should not be confused with the American character Bomb-Burst, who has an identical toy, but is considered a separate character.

Transformers: Generation 1

Blood is very good at night battles, but poor at fighting in sunlight; he hates being out in the light too often. He can conceal himself from the enemy’s line of vision, a strategy which enables him to attack from the sky. He also has the ability to use hypnotism. When he appeared in Europe in the Middle Ages, he was feared by the humans who called him a vampire. He was sealed in a pyramid by the Autobot Pretenders. He is able to control humans with bewitchment.[1]

Animated series

In the Japanese Transformers: Super-God Masterforce series Blood was one of the three Decepticon Pretenders that served under Mega and Giga. He serves as a front line soldier, but his usefulness soon diminishes with the arrival of the Powermasters.

Dauros first appeared in episode #1 of the Masterforce animated series "Rise Up!! Pretenders" where he and the other Decepticon Pretenders took Go Shooter hostage with the aid of several Tentakil drones. They were defeated by the four Autobot Pretenders.[2]

Blood last appears in episode #42 "A Battle... and Then..." where the Decepticon Pretenders flee an enraged Black Zarak.[3]

In some fan dubs of Masterforce Blood is voiced by Brenton Eschman, and he is called by the name Bomb-Burst.

Toys

  • Generation 1 Pretender Blood D-201 (1988)
This Decepticon Pretender came with a shell shaped like a vampire bat humanoid. This toy is identical to the toy released in the US as Bomb-Burst.
