Adrian Bonet (born January 2, 1980) is a Spanish-Mexican wedding photographer known for his ability to capture intimate and candid moments on a wedding day and for creating visually striking images that tell the story of the couple's special day.[1]

Early life and career

Adrian Bonet is a photographer from Barcelona, Spain. He developed an interest in photography during his youth and pursued further education in the field. He began his career as a freelance photographer, taking on various assignments such as portraits, commercial, and event photography. He eventually specialized in wedding photography and established himself in this field in his country.

Bonet has received recognition for his wedding photography through award wins and features in industry publications.[2] He has also been acknowledged by prominent organizations in the wedding photography field.

In January 2013, his work was featured in the Ritz-Carlton Magazine, with a focus on emotions and details at the Hotel Arts in Barcelona, Spain.[3]

In 2016, he was featured on "Style me Pretty" for his natural and unstaged wedding photography and received positive feedback from readers.[4][1]

In December 2020, his work was featured in Modern Luxury Magazine of Chicago in an article about destination weddings in Tulum, showcasing his images of a boho-style wedding.

Awards and recognition

Adrian Bonet is a wedding photographer based in Playa del Carmen, Mexico who specializes in documentary wedding photography.[5] He has a keen eye for composition, attention to detail, and understanding of how to capture truly impactful moments which has earned him several awards and recognition.

In 2018, he received the "Artistic Guild" award from the WPJA, and in 2018 and 2019, he received the "Awards for Documentary Wedding Photography" from the WPJA. Additionally, he received the WPJA's "Diamond Award" for his ability to create natural-looking, pre-wedding images with unique and artistic compositions.[6] He is known for capturing raw emotions and candid moments in a way that evokes emotion and realism in the final images.

In 2020, 2021, and 2023, he received the WeddingWire "Couples' Choice Awards", and in 2022 he was a recipient of the XII Edition of the ZIWA - Zankyou International Wedding Awards. These awards are considered to be the most prestigious international awards in the wedding industry.[7]

In 2019, Adrian Bonet was awarded in the "You Rock Photographer’s Contest 60", which is organized by a community of wedding and elopement photographers and recognizes creativity and hard work in the field of wedding photography.[8]

Memberships

Adrian Bonet is a member of the Wedding Photojournalism Association (WPJA) since 2018. The WPJA recognizes him for his documentary-style approach to capturing candid moments in weddings. He is also a member of the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP) since 2013, an organization established by professional photographers to elevate the standards of the wedding photography profession. He has also been a member of the Fearless Photographers association since 2015, which aims to recognize and promote exceptional wedding photographers globally.[10] His work has been consistently acknowledged by the organization as one of the "top 10 wedding photographers in Riviera Maya, Mexico".[11]

He is a wedding photographer who is a member of various photography associations. These include Fearless Photographers, a group of over 3000 photographers focused on producing high-quality wedding photography.[12] The association has a rigorous selection process and only accepted photographers are members.[13]

In 2018, Adrian Bonet was a member of Junebug Weddings, an online wedding magazine that aims to connect couples with trusted wedding professionals.[14] This membership offered him the opportunity to connect with couples who are planning their weddings.

Since 2018, Adrian Bonet has been a member of the Best of Wedding Photography (BOWP), an invitation-only directory of top wedding photographers.[15] BOWP's goal is to provide a central location for brides and industry professionals to easily find exceptional wedding photographers worldwide.

Personal life

Adrian Bonet is a resident of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where he lives with his wife, Ivonne Matias, who is also a photographer, and their daughter.
