2048 is the natural number following 2047 and preceding 2049.
2048 is a power of two: 211 (2 to the 11th power).
Use in computing
Many early video games were commonly released as 2048-byte ROM cartridges.[1] For example, the 1977 game Combat — shipped with the original Atari Video Computer System (later renamed the Atari 2600) — consisted of a 2048-byte ROM.[1]
