Welcome to the Travel Radar talk page. Please leave comments, suggestions and drafts here. Without drafts here, changes WILL be reverted. Thank you.

explanation

I reverted this series of changes, by User:Cumulusclouds.

In this edit summary they asserted "Fixed page that had been hijacked by Ali Bayat. Travel Radar Media Ltd. is the proper brand and registered trademark here"

I don't really understand that assertion.

I don't know what is going on. For all any of of the rest of know there are two different organizations, each named "Travel Radar". I do know contributor User:Olife was here first, so I am going to give his or her version pride of place, unless Cumulusclouds offers stronger arguments. Geo Swan (talk) 03:05, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

RE: Geo Swan Reversion

I have undone your revisions to this page.

'Travel Radar'is a trademarked term registered with the United Kingdom Intellectual Property Office: https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK00003579704 belonging to the organisation I corrected the page to.

Travelradar.com is a web domain infringing on that trademark, and not offering any legitimate services to users. The company is not registered, nor have any employees. It is an example of domain ransom, trying to force the trademark owners to pay a significant sum to release the domain to them and for the infringer to profit from this act.

This brand would be better suited to be under a new seperate page 'Travelradar.com'if they wish to maintain a business page on WikiAlpha, however for the sake of copyright and trademark respect, this main page should remain reflective of the correct brand.

  • The original article was unreferenced. Your revised version is also unreferenced.

RE: Second Reversion by User Geo Swan

Geo Swan, you seem to misunderstand how trademarks work. The trademark cited is for a wordmark containing just the sole words "Travel Radar".

Similar to Coca Cola - their company name is "The Coca Cola Company" but their trademark is "Coca Cola". See https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK00001133690 as an example.

Unless the third party can prove rights to the phrase, my reversion stands on copyright grounds. Any subsequent reversions will lead to a trademark claim being raised. I suggest you leave yourself out of legal disputes where you fail to understand trademark.
