Jahangirnagar University (JU) is a public university located in the Savar Upazila, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. It was established in 1970 as the first fully residential university in Bangladesh and is named after the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The university is known for its natural environment and various academic disciplines, including sciences, social sciences, humanities, law, and business studies, as well as for its Institute of Information Technology (IIT). It also offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees in various fields. It has a diverse student body and faculty, with students from all over the country and many foreign countries. JU is consistently ranked among the top universities in Bangladesh and is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
