Early life

Giuseppe was born in Weehawken, New Jersey, to Giuseppe Di Caccamo Sr., an auto salesman, restauranteur, and former architect, and Rubi Di Caccamo (née Thache), a cosmetologist and former maternity nurse. He is of Sicilian and Colombian descent. At the age of 3, his mother urged him to take up an instrument and learn music as a hobby. But his musical career truly began when they moved to Miami, Florida.[1][3]

Giuseppe studied at Miami Dade College (1989-1991).[2][4]

Career

While in high school in the late 1980s, Giuseppe immersed himself within the dance music scene emerging from Miami at the time. He began to work with Miami's Who's Who of dance royalty through mutual friends, which led him to collaborate with freestyle music producers. He developed foundational relationships with legendary producers such as Lewis Martineé (Exposé), Ish (Foxy, Company B), and Tolga Katas (Stevie B and Linear). His friendship and collaboration with Katas led to the release of his first record, One Love, by freestyle recording artist Tony Marino.[5] During this time, Giuseppe honed his skills interning in major studios and studying music in college, then decided, along with his parents, to move back North to pursue his musical career even further.

Upon returning to New York City in 1991, he immediately began to network and collaborate with many musicians and industry people alike, leading him to produce Billboard dance hits I Could Be This by Androgeny feat. Michael M (Strictly Rhythm) and Descarga! by LatinXpress, which caught the attention of music producer Tony Moran. Tony was so impressed with Giuseppe's work that he hired him to be an in-house producer and programmer.[3] He continued to work as a Programmer and Co-Producer at Tony Moran Enterprises, Inc. from January 1994 until January 2015.[4] His collaboration with Tony Moran Enterprises led him to work on many major label releases from artists such as The Real McCoy, Jon Secada, Cyndi Lauper, Luther Vandross, Gloria Estefan, and Celine Dion.

Since working with Tony Moran and other producers like Jonathan Peters and Soul Solution, Giuseppe gained experience in every aspect of music production. He started Hothead Productions in May 1994[4] and became a remixer working on hot chart-topping singles such as Dark Beat by Oscar G. & Ralph Falcon (Twisted), Hot Dance Club Songs, Give It Up by Kevin Aviance (Emerge), and They-Say Vision by Res (MCA). He also has a talent for Latin remixes working with top Latin artists such as Juanes, Luis Fonsi, Celia Cruz, and Elvis Crespo, scoring with the worldwide hit Suavemente.[6]

In the spring of 2004, Giuseppe was hired by Dee Sonaram from Koch Entertainment to produce William Hung's debut album Inspiration, which hit number one on Billboard's Top Independent Album Chart and sold over 300,000 copies. He also produced his Christmas album, Hung for the Holidays, and his final album, Miracle: Happy Summer, from William Hung.

In October 2005, Giuseppe founded Trina Enterprises, LLC.[4], which provided him with outlets for showcasing and releasing some of his own material and productions. He continued to produce many established artists for many labels as well as consulting for other independent labels such as Robbins Entertainment (January 2000-September 2013), Radikal Records (since January 2014)[2][4][7] and many others. During his ten-year tenure at Robbins, Giuseppe was responsible for the grooming and working with acts such as Cascada, D.H.T., and Reina. He was often involved in production with acts like his cover of Journey’s Don't Stop Believin with George Lamond.[7]

In early 2010, Giuseppe began working with the recording artist Lori Michaels. They collaborated on a couple of tracks, the first being the raucous and beat-driven record, Rebound. The record was released on Giuseppe’s label Monitor Sound Recordings and soon found itself climbing the Billboard Dance/Club Play Chart in August. Rebound reached the Top 15 on the iTunes Dance Chart (#14) and Billboard Dance Chart (#13). Through Michaels, Giuseppe was introduced to a close friend of hers, Danielle Staub. The three collaborated on a duet record for Staub and Michaels, Real Close, which was released and performed in time for the show’s Season 2 reunion. The duet was performed live on several television programs including, The Early Show on CBS, the syndicated Maury talk show, and premiered on Bravo’s, Watch What Happens: LIVE!.[6]

Giuseppe has also worked with the Miami-based artist, emerging rapper, and songwriter DICI, whose self-titled debut EP has scored over 300,000 Spotify streams in 100 countries and more than 600,000 views of his professionally directed and produced videos on YouTube.

In September 2010, he became the Vice President of Digital Media at Spy Music Group, Inc., and in May 2018, he was hired by Menudo International, LLC. as A&R Director.[4][2]

Giuseppe D. was the Music Supervisor for the film Jersey Shore Massacre (2014).[8] He assisted with editing and played a DJ, a role he also performed in Girls Gone Dead (2012).

He has also done remixes under the monikers MARAUD3R and Silver Bluff

In April 2022, he developed his debut NFT concept album, Now Fun Trx (NFT), consisting of 12 audiovisual pieces.[9][10][11]

Most recently, he has been working on co-producing the new single, a dance version of As Long As You're Mine from Wicked with Kendra Erika featuring Constantine Maroulis.[12]

Recognition

The musician has also been invited to contribute as a panelist and at workshops on subjects such as Latin remixing and networking within the music industry at the Winter Music Conference in 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2011.
