Philflora History

Philflora is a store in the Philippines where you can buy flowers. It is an online business sending customers products from farmers, distributors, and their own distribution centers. Philflora's main office is in Pasay, Metro Manila in the Philippines. It is a company entirely owned and operated by I-MAP Websolutions Companies.

PhilfIora is a subsidiary company of I-MAP websolutions Companie. I-MAP was founded in 2002 by Joanne Oliva Rahman and Abu Md Rahman. In the beginning, both Abu & Joanne worked for this Business. Once it's grown, we hire florists, train them, and have four full-time florists, but in the season, we hire 30 to 40 plus florists like Valentine and mothers day. That company started from HOME after he finished B.S.C.S graduation from LPU. He started with an online flower shop. He purchased a commercial shopping cart we bought on the Internet and began selling flowers and gifts. 2003 October 1st website www.phgifts.com was launched. During that time, marketing was more on putting banner ads with online newspapers because ONLINE newspapers were booming during this time. He took an ex-deal opportunity to almost all national newspapers for free banner marketing with Manila times, Manila Bulletin, Philippines Star, Inquirer, Sun Star, Abante, Tribune, manila standard, Etc. In 2007 we decided to have multiple websites, adding a few more. 2008 strategy change SEO became the main key point for Online Selling, and we made a strategy to have 75 websites to monopolize the google and yahoo ranking, and it was successful.

Stop all ex-deal with publication 2012 and focus on SEO marketing. In 2011, social media marketing got famous, and we focused our 50% marketing effort on social media marketing. 2014-2016 social media, especially Facebook, impacted our Business because many small flower shops became online using Facebook fan pages & classifieds. 2016 google has significant changes in search engine algorithm, which affect our ranking in the search engine and other search engines. 2017 we found a BIG issue with our third-party shopping cart & 75 website migrations, and google requirements become a warning to the Business. In 2018 we started thinking about how to sustain the Business we have been doing for the last 15 years. In 2018 we started building our multi-domain platform to manage all our domains at 1 point.

Flowers are sold and bought through Philflora. It includes how to care for and handle flowers, layout and organize flowers, and deliver flowers. Florist stores sell fresh flowers and other products and services that go with them. Philflora is about growing flowers, arranging them, and selling them. The cut flowers sector supplies a significant amount of the raw materials used in producing Philflora's products.

Significance of particular flowers

Most of the time, a flower shop will arrange flowers depending on the season and the holiday. In various parts of the world, flowers have multiple connotations. There is a wide variety of celebrations and occasions that call for the usage of flowers. People usually like flowers connected with their cultural minority or nation, and the color of a flower has a lot to do with how it is used and what it means to the culture. Colors imply different meanings for different people. For example, some people associate specific color schemes with good fortune, dying, or adoration.

The symbolism of a red rose may be seen as love in certain cultures, while others may view it as obscene or just plain confusing. The different ways people feel about the color white can make it hard to communicate and sometimes hurt people's feelings. Whereas in many Asian cultures, the color white is often a sign of death, white is more often associated with innocence and purity in Philippine nations. Beginning Victorians, among others, created an entire language of flowers that is still used today in the floral industry.

Role in personal relationships

Because different flowers have a wide range of meanings and there are so many ways to arrange flowers, it's not remarkable that they play many roles in individual connections. They are sent to show love, mark special events, express gratitude, and do other things. During the COVID-19 flu epidemic in 2020 and 2021, Philflora became an even more excellent factor in talking to people far away.

Floral design or arts is the best way to do it if you're looking for a way to add a dash of color and beauty to your home or office via flowers. People often think that "floral design" and "Philflora" are the same. Philflora is also not the same as horticulture, a more general term for growing flowers. So that they remain good as long as necessary and are beneficial to buy, which also means knowing what customers want and anticipate. Making different flower arrangements, like wreaths, bouquets, permanent collections, and other more challenging designs is also essential.

The company of Philflora has a considerable economy in the country of corporate social and environmental events. That is because flowers play a vital role in the décor of special meetings and conferences. Flowers are used in professional and economic settings for centerpieces, entrances, reception tables, bridal bouquets, weddings, and stage sets.

How we execute our orders

How we communicate with the buyer and execute an order: We do consumption and cost for any specific style for the customer and then we confirm the price to our buyer as quickly as possible. Our team contacts the buyer and collects an order by showing the garments they made before or directly asking which type of garments the customer needs. Then we decide and select our best factory to make that order. The factory must be audited by recognized organizations like Oeko-tex, WRAP, ACCORD, ALLIANCE, etc. (Depending on the Buyer). Then the development merchandiser develops the product and sends a development sample for any correction. Usually, the buyer makes some modifications to the development sample and sometimes they want us to redevelop the sample. Sometimes they just comment and advise to submit the 1st Fit sample.

Then fit sample is made and our QC team checks thoroughly with the technical file and approved development sample. Sometimes a Red seal sample is sent for approval which is also known as buying a sample. And if the red seal sample is approved, the order is confirmed. After receiving and reviewing the order sheet, we request the buyer to open the master LC or send an advance TT. Then Production merchandiser follows up on the total production stages. After getting approval for the red seal or fit sample, he has to book the fabric and trims/accessories. He has to Follow upon whether the fabric and trim arrived in the factory on time or not. After all approval, he calls the production planning meeting with the factory. QC has to follow the production checking with approved samples, fabric, and accessories. He helps production merchandisers by giving all information in the production stage. QC’s main task is to check all samples (red seal, gold seal, web sample, etc) sent to the buyer, and help factory people whether there have any queries or questions. Fabric trims and accessories are checked in a lab in buying a house or a third-party lab. It‘s called in-house tests like Bulk fabric hangers, shade variation in shade continuity, lab dip, fabric quality, etc.

Different types of inspection are also done before ex-factory/shipment such as continuous inline inspection, pre-production inspection( after finishing 15% of bulk production), mid-term inspection( after finishing 50% of bulk production), final inspection, etc. After the final inspection, we deliver the goods to the port on our transport. Before that, we sent a booking request to the buyer's nominated forwarding agent or our nominated agent which one buyer chooses we check freight cost and help the to customer for finding the best freight cost and wait for the approval. We follow up on cargo staffing, ETD, ETA, and update buyers accordingly. After the shipment of total goods, we prepare the shipment documents without delay and submit them to the bank. In the case of TT payment, we wait for the balance payment from the customer and then send shipping documents to the buyer directly.

How We Control Quality & Our Inspection Procedure

  • Hand over the order
  • Pre Production Sample
  • Pre-production meeting
  • Inspections

Working procedure in management:

At first, we hand over the order to two of our merchandisers and two QA people. Every morning they discuss the whole status in the daily meeting with our General Manager, Merchandising. One QC concerning that particular order will stay in the factory the whole day (production time) until the final shipment. We always need a pre-production sample and then make a pre-production meeting before we go into production. Our merchandiser and QA inspector go to the factory at the time of the pre-production meeting, check the sample, pattern, and final comments on a sample from the buyer and if they are satisfied, they give instructions to the factory people for trial production. Steps in garments inspection: In the garments industry, the desired or expected quality parameters are controlled by inspection. We do this inspection in three steps:

Raw material inspection in a garments factory.

Fabric, sewing threads, buttons, trims, etc. are the raw material in the garments industry. The quality of a final garment depends on the quality of a fabric when it is received as a roll. Even the most outstanding manufacturing methods can not compensate for defective materials. So before the production of garments quality, we check raw material which is a very important task in the garment industry. In-process inspection in garment factory From the starting point of garment manufacturing up to garments ready to shipment, we execute the in-process inspection. At least 65 to 80% of defects can be checked and controlled through in-process inspection.

Final inspection in a garment factory

The final inspection consists of inspecting finished garments from the buyer’s point of view; size measurements, form-fitting (putting garments on the proper size manikins to see if they properly fit labeled sizes); and live modeling if necessary (again to see if the garments properly fit the labeled sizes). A final inspection may occur before or after garments are packed in poly bags and cartons. We do this inspection after garments are packed so that proper size and style markings on the package can also be checked.

Different types of inspection also done before ex-factory/shipment such as continuous inline inspection, pre-production inspection( after finishing 15% of bulk production), mid-term inspection( after finishing 50% of bulk production), final inspection, etc. After the final inspection, we deliver the goods to the port on our transport. Before that, we sent a booking request to the buyer nominated forwarding agent or our nominated agent which one buyer choice we check freight cost and help to customer for finding best freight cost and wait for the approval. We follow up cargo staffing, ETD, ETA, and update buyers accordingly. After the shipment of total goods, we prepare the shipment documents without delay and submit them to the bank. In the case of TT payment, we wait for the balance payment from the customer and then send shipping documents to the buyer directly.
