Hunter J. Haselrig is an American businessman, investor, & media proprietor. He is the founder of Positive Space Holdings, which today controls more than 100 companies in various fields.

Haselrig’s aspirations for entrepreneurship were discovered at a very early age. His first business venture was a furniture business called College Supply Furniture. He designed interactive furniture pieces that were focused on functionality, fun, and sports themes. In 2017, he launched a creative marketing agency in downtown Chicago, Illinois - Positive Space Media. The company began as a photography studio and has since expanded into a variety of other media and marketing services including animation, film production, design, software, and artificial intelligence solutions. Positive Space Media has operations in Chicago, New York City, Miami, and Indianapolis. The company stands to work with brands, businesses, and influencers on a global scale.

In early 2022, Haselrig began investing in new businesses and disruptive ideas. In 2023, he launched Positive Space Holdings - he founded the company with a vision to promote positive change through responsible and sustainable business practices.

In 2023, Haselrig launched The Positive Space Foundation and The Positive Earth Fund with the intention of paving avenues for positive change on the largest scale possible. His inspiration for the Positive Space name and brand came from the ideology that the larger his businesses become the more he wants to empower others through positive actions and impact.

In early 2024, Haselrig joined the board of directors for the Harvey Brooks Motivation & Development Foundation.

Early Life Hunter J. Haselrig was born on January 26th, 1998 in York, Pennsylvania, United States of America, the son of John Haselrig, and his wife Carmen Haselrig. He has 5 older siblings, Zach, Christine, Cara, Scott, and Carly.

Haselrig was educated at Grand Rapids Christian High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States of America. He briefly attended High Point University, Ball State University and Columbia College Chicago.

Early Business Career Shortly after finishing high school, Haselrig attended High Point University where he spent one semester, before leaving the university to focus his energy and finances on developing his furniture business.

He officially launched his furniture business named College Supply Furniture in mid-2016. He sold all of his units, and a year later, Haselrig’s net worth was around $120,000. The venture operated out of a leased workshop in Carmel, Indiana housing welding machinery and wood cutting tools. Haselrig eventually closed the business down because it was not his passion and he did not see himself running the operation into the future. Although the venture was not as successful as he had hoped, the business later became vital in the laying the foundation for Haselrig’s future business success. Haselrig went back to college, briefly attending Ball State University where he studied Business, photojournalism, and Mandarin Chinese. His parents relocated to downtown Chicago, IL and while in the Windy City he seized all the opportunities of being downtown. While on a break at home, he decided to launch a media business and called it Positive Space Media. In its early days the company focused on commercial video production and brand photography. His company Positive Space Media began to gain traction towards the end of 2020 which led to his decision to leave Ball State University and move to Chicago, Illinois where he could focus on his business while attending classes. He transferred to Columbia College Chicago for film school. He studied Cinematography while maintaining the operations of his rapidly growing media company. As 2022 came to a close Haselrig was experiencing rapid growth and sizable profits from his company. He decided to leave school and focus full time on entrepreneurship.

Positive Space

2017: Founding of Positive Space Media In 2017, using money he made from his furniture business he launched the company business Positive Space Media. The name “Positive Space” came to fruition because he believes media always was a positive outlet for him throughout his life. His camera, movies, and all forms of creativity have brought many positive things into his life. Haselrig says that entrepreneurship and media have put him in positions to meet his best friends, travel to incredible places, and ultimately discover his calling.

2022-2023: Positive Space Foundation Haselrig founded the Positive Space Foundation with the goal of providing resources and guidance for Chicago youth. He wants to help high school students explore the various avenues of the creative media space through hands on learning experiences, mentorship, and access to necessary tools for a successful launch. He believes the program initiatives will bridge the gap as it relates to knowledge, finance, and career barriers young creators face.

2022-2023: Positive Earth Fund Haselrig founded The Positive Earth Fund. His organization works with children, teaching them the importance of taking care of our planet through activities such as planting flowers and trees outside their schools.

2023: Positive Space Holdings: In early 2023, Haselrig launched Positive Space Holdings. He launched the firm with a vision to impact business and promote positive change at the largest scale possible. He has a deep interest in growing his presence in business and being an impact. The company identifies and invests in innovative companies, technologies and disruptive ideas that have the potential for significant profit and can positively impact society.

2024: The Harvey Brooks Motivation & Development Foundation In early 2024, Haselrig joined the board of directors for the Harvey Brooks Motivation & Development Foundation. The organization’s primary goal is to promote and contribute to community development by providing educational programs and services that build character and develop life skills. The organization was established in 1998 in Joliet, Illinois.

Personal Life

Haselrig was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 26th, 1998. His family moved to Savannah Georgia where he spent is early childhood. After a few years, his parents moved the family to Zionsville, Indiana in October 2006. Haselrig then moved to Michigan where he attended high school in Grand Rapids Michigan. After graduating from Grand Rapids Christian High School, he attended High Point University for one year where he studied Business Administration and Mandarin Chinese. Haselrig moved back to Indiana where he launched his first business venture and attended Ball State University. After launching Positive Space Media Haselrig relocated full time to Chicago, Illinois.

In his free time Hunter frequents the movie theater, skateboards, swims, climbs, and distance runs. Hunter is extremely passionate for all things relative to entrepreneurship, art, and filmmaking.

He says one of the most rewarding things about business ownership is traveling to new places, learning from a wide range of people, and the constant opportunity to be an impact.
