The content created for this article merited speedy deletion, under Wikialpha:CSD for two reasons.

Instead of deleting the whole file I excised the spam, and wrapped the {{db-language}} {{db-spam}} with a {{tl}}. Then I protected it, so only administrators can edit it. I did this so I could preserve this edit.

There is at least one sockpuppetmaster - the one who is created close to one thousand pages of gambling spam, in Vietnamese.

Recently at least one sockpuppetmaster has been reverting the valid {{db-language}} and {{db-spam}} User:XXBlackburnXx has placed on those gambling spam pages, as well as porting wikipedia content in ways that constitute copyright violation, and creating a limited number of articles of dubious content, combined with an incredible amount of personal attacks.

I think this edit suggests these two groups of sockpuppets are in league.

The second group of sockpuppets have criticized administrators here for being insensitive to non-English speaking contributors. Wikialpha:CSD says all content has to be in English. In general, I am patient with non-English speaking contributors, and do not immediately delete their material, when it seems possible its contribution here was a good faith mistake. I give them a chance to translate their content into English. Several good faith contributors have subsequently translated their articles into English. So the grace period was not a mistake.

More recently, I think I can recognize the work of the Vietnamese sockpuppetmaster, so I do not extend a grace period to those pages. Geo Swan (talk) 15:50, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
